September 2002

Ann Rogers starts the New Orleans Original Cocktail Tour, a walking tour of the city’s most storied bars and cocktails.

September 2003

The 1st Anniversary of the New Orleans Cocktail Tour celebration becomes the first Tales of the Cocktail®.

July 2006

Despite the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina, Tales of the Cocktail® returns to New Orleans, welcoming spirits professionals from around the globe.

July 2006

Tales of the Cocktail® grows by one very important guest, Paul G. Tuennerman, the future Mr. Cocktail.

January 2007

Ann Rogers founds the New Orleans Culinary & Cultural Preservation Society (NOCCPS), the 501c3 non-profit dedicated to supporting the cocktail industry.

July 2007

The Spirited Awards® are created and added to the program at Tales of the Cocktail®.

August 2007

The Golden Spirit Award is established and presented to Charlotte Voisey.

November 2007

Ann Rogers and Paul G. Tuennerman are married on November 17th and Mr. and Mrs. Cocktail are united!

May 2008

Michelle Dunnick, Christina Sudderth and Melissa Young join the Tales of the Cocktail® Team to help bring the festival to life with marketing, operations, accounting and event production.

July 2008

The Cocktail Apprentice Program is founded, giving up-and-coming mixologists a chance to learn alongside cocktail masters.

July 2008

By way of Senate Bill No. 6, the Louisiana State Legislature approves the Sazerac as the Official Cocktail of the City of New Orleans, making New Orleans the first city in the country to have an official cocktail.

July 2008

Kevin Brauch, The Thirsty Traveler, is honored as the first Tales of the Cocktail® Ambassador. The ambassador program is established to recognize outstanding industry professionals.

June 2010

The Flo Woodward Memorial Scholarship is established to honor of one of New Orleans’ most beloved barkeeps. This scholarship provides continuing education opportunities for members of the New Orleans hospitality industry.

July 2010

The Cocktail Apprentice Scholarship Fund is founded to allow former apprentices to pursue their passion for mixology through both educational opportunities and research projects.

July 2010

Eight New Orleans bars are the first recipients of the Seal of the Sazerac. This program is established to preserve the quality of the city’s most legendary cocktail.

March 2011

Tales of the Cocktail® hosts Tales on Tour in Vancouver, its first festival outside of New Orleans.

August 2011

The Cocktail Apprentice Medical Fund is established to provide short-term financial assistance to former Tales of the Cocktail® Apprentices to help off set large medical expenses in times of need.

May 2012

In conjunction with the 10th anniversary, Tales of the Cocktail® from A to Z is written and released by Anistatia Miller and Jared Brown.

July 2012

Tales of the Cocktail® celebrates its 10th Anniversary with an economic impact of $14.3 million.

August 2012

Delta Dawg joins the Tales of the Cocktail® family and becomes the official mascot.

November 2012

Emily Britton joins the Tales of the Cocktail® Team.

April 2013

Tales of the Cocktail® On Tour hosts their traveling festival in Buenos Aires.

March 2014

Christine Bondick joins the Tales of the Cocktail® Team.

July 2014

Tales of the Cocktail® launches Tales 365, a membership program offering exclusive spirits content and events 365 days a year.

July 2014

Tales of the Cocktail® announces its third Tales on Tour location and 2015 destination Mexico City

September 2014

Hattie May Sudderth is born on September 1st, becoming the first official Tales of the Cocktail® baby.

October 2014

Alex Smith joins the Tales of the Cocktail® Team.
