This bright, sweet and satisfying cocktail has been known by many names. Originally, it was named "The Bachelor," but when it found equal favor among unmarried female imbibers, it was given the unflattering title of "The Spinster." This, of course, was so offensive to one of its female fans that she told its creator that he should just call it "The Social Stigma," and it stuck.
The Social Stigma
- 1 1/2 oz. BACARDÍ Superior rum
- 1/2 oz. Xante Pear & Cognac Liqueur
- 3-4 strawberries
- 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
- 4/5 oz. vanilla syrup
- 1 fresh egg white
Place the strawberries into a cocktail shaker, and crush them lightly (using a muddler or bar spoon). Pour in the rest of the ingredients along with some ice cubes and give it a good, hard shake. Fine strain the mixture into a chilled glass.
