It's no secret that we're ardently in support of the blue cocktail resurgence. What's not to love? They're eye-catching, they're whimsical, and they're — dare we say it? — really damn fun. The right one might even transport you to a simpler, perhaps more tropical time and place.
The Pacific Wave, as crafted by Andrew Larson at The Nolen in San Diego, does just that. With Bacardi Superior, grapefruit liqueur, lemon juice and that all-important blue curacao, it just might be the next-best thing to an afternoon spent seaside. Check out this beautiful summer drink below, and recreate the recipe for yourself:
- 1.5 oz Bacardi Superior
- .75oz lemon juice
- .5oz Giffard Pamplemouse
- .25oz Giffard Blue Curaçao
- 2 dashes Scrappy's cardamom bitters
Combine ingredients in shaker. Shake, strain, and serve with crushed ice. Garnish with orchid.
