Nominations Open for the 2017 Dame Hall of Fame® Inductees
For the past 5 years Tales of the Cocktail has honored women in our business who have made an impact on the people and communities they live in.
Ever since there were cocktails there have been dames. Strong, confident women that were happy to serve you a drink or kick you out if you’ve had too many. Today there are dames around the world that are shaking up the industry. At the Dame Hall of Fame event, a new class of extraordinary and spirited cocktail women will receive the recognition they deserve. Join us at Ruth’s Chris, a restaurant built by one of the New Orleans’ most legendary dames, Ruth Fertel, as we salute all the dames that are redefining bartending with every shake.

WHAT IS A DAME?
Written by Jennifer English
A Dame is a woman we are proud to know. She need not be rich, or famous. She must have that magic mixture of Humor & Heart. All else flows from those two things. The same way that a little girl is made of "sugar and spice and everything nice." A Dame is made of "Humor and Heart". A Dame wears her Humor and her Heart with a certain nobility, grace and ease. No Dame wears Dame-hood like a burden.
And it is with her Humor and Heart that the Dame gets her confidence. To own the very ground she stands on. It is with Heart & Humor that the Dame does her life's work, making the world a better place than before her.
For the past 4 years Tales of the Cocktail has honored women in our business who have made an impact on the people and communities they live in. This is your chance to nominate a women for the 2016 Dame Hall of Fame Event.
