Calling all sweet tooths, aperitif lovers, and cordial connoisseurs: Tales of the Cocktail is thrilled to announce our very first Liqueur Week next week, presented in partnership with our friends at Marie Brizard.
On Monday, March 20, we’ll kick off our week-long celebration of liqueurs past and present, and digging into the fascinating history, culture, and even a bit of science surrounding the sweeter side of the spirits world. Ever wonder how to strike that delicate balance of sweetness in a cocktail? Curious about how modern bartenders are pushing the envelope in after-dinner drinks? Thirsty for a new-and-improved riff on the Grasshopper? We’ll cover all of that, and more.
Look for spotlights on the liqueurs that are making a well-deserved comeback, tips from liqueur experts on what these ingredients can add to a drink, and a taste of the rich history and culture behind some of the world’s most beloved liqueurs. And, of course, we’ll share a slew of fantastic liqueur-driven recipes from our friends at Marie Brizard, showing off the very best qualities of our favorite anisette, creme de cacao, apry and more. (Expect a few fun surprises thrown in there, too — perhaps one involving fire tricks.)
