Vintage bar literature is perhaps one of the most fascinating resources for cocktail recipe ideas. Whether you're breathing new life into an old classic, bringing a long-forgotten recipe, ingredient, or garnish back to the spotlight, or perusing dusty old bar books for inspiration and new ideas, those old-school recipe booklets can hold just as much potential as today's modern bestsellers. So, we asked our friends at Marie Brizard to share a few highlights from their archive: long drinks, strong drinks and even dessert. Read on for a few of our favorites. (Necessary disclaimer: translations are an approximation, and quantities are measured in parts unless stated otherwise. We included instructions on recipes that originally had them, but several only list the ingredients and proportions. Use your imagination, and enjoy!)
