The 9 Ways Instagram Inspired Us This Week

Our Insta-cocktail feed never ceases to amaze and inspire. Whether it's finding new ways to add smoke or steam for a more sensuous cocktail experience (we see you, burned rosemary and bamboo baskets), using ingredients in new and revolutionary ways or creating drinks of a different color, we can count on our weekly scroll to freshen our perspective on the world of craft cocktails. Plus, this week brought us bartenders around the globe preparing to enter Bacardi Legacy and the first female winner of World Class Bartender. Join us as we enter the weekend prepared to take on anything.

Girl power

In a major moment for women behind the stick, Jennifer Le Nechet of Cafe Moderne in Paris was the first female to win World Class Bartender. This post captures the joy and magnitude of her historic victory.

Drink to your health

Greek yogurt, topped with obscure tropical fruits and other hippie health remedies is one of those inexplicably trendy Instagram foods. We much prefer the looks of Greek yogurt in this cocktail by GreenRiver in Chicago. It’s still healthy, right?

Beauty in a bamboo basket

We’re suckers for hype videos, and this tantalizing masterpiece makes us more than a little thirsty for what Melbourne’s GoGo Bar is serving up. It can be assumed that any cocktail steamed in a bamboo basket is likely to be an aromatic delight.

This week we celebrated National Coffee Day (cocktail style), and this strikingly pink coffee drink seems like a good way to keep the party going.

Garnishes that smell like fall

The sweet smell of fall is in the air, and it’s also being served alongside cocktails. This drink by bartender Chad Coombs is the kind of sensory autumnal experience we’re looking for — burnt rosemary, smoky mezcal and housemade pine bitters? Yes, thank you.

Back in black

This week we talked about the black cocktail trend, popping up on cocktail menus all over the world. This black beauty, served at Corner Club is a stunning example.

Drinks for the season’s transition

By all official measures, fall has arrived. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy to walk away from summer imbibes. This cocktail by Alex Drumm will ease the transition.

What to do when summer’s bounty runs dry and customers still want the summer flavors in their cocktails? Jam. We took a close look this week at how to incorporate jams, jellies, preserves and more to keep cocktails rich and fresh all year long.
