'Tis the season for holiday cocktails — but not your standard-issue eggnogs, punches and toddies of yore. Instead, we're ushering in the most festive time of year with the likes of homemade giggle water, spiked cider with mini pyrotechnics, and one very exciting partnership between two of our favorite tiki bars and one Kris Kringle. Read on to see the most clever, memorable, and downright adorable (we're looking at you, Rocco) serves we spotted online this week.

DIY Giggle Water is real life magic

J.K. Rowling devotees will appreciate Detroit cocktail aficionado Nick Britsky’s recipe for Giggle Water — a delightful, laughter-inducing cocktail featured in, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” And this cocktail goes beyond booze-born giddiness; it includes laughing gas, so you know it earns the name.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Bars all over the world are donning their holiday decor. Lost Lake in Chicago has gone well above and beyond festive, transforming into Sippin' Santa's Surf Shack for the entire month of December.

When in Rome

Drinks at Rome’s cosmopolitan are just that — cosmopolitan. No surprise that they offer cocktails served in high fashion.

Do as the Japanese do

And speaking of elevated aesthetics, the presentation of this Nikka Whisky cocktail from Pabu in Boston is distinctly Japanese — the pottery it’s served in is minimal, thoughtful and striking.

Light the spark

Hot apple cider cocktails are about as simple as it gets, but no less delicious for their ease. Take your bonfire worthy imbibe to the next level by garnishing it with a miniature sparkler.

Bee aware

The Honey B cocktail takes on a conservationist angle, as without bees, it would not be.This white tea infused tequila drink is made with honey and garnished with bee pollen, with a charming little honey bee buzzing above it.

The most festive pugtender

We’re admittedly charmed by the #pugtender year round, but we find him particularly irresistible during holidays. With the arrival of December, we were thrilled to see Rocco the Pug serving mulled wine in a reindeer suit.

How stunning is this serve? Beyond the moody, dramatic vibes, we're feeling the idea of giving a European spin on a beloved New Orleans classic, with the addition of Aperol and a touch of absinthe.

Santa heads South for the winter

Why would you stay up in the cold, lonely North Pole when there are tiki drinks to be had? Latitude 29 in New Orleans, Boilermaker in New York and Lost Lake in Chicago are teaming up for a month-long pop-up, Sippin' Santa's Surf Shack, with tiki cocktails from all three bars available daily through New Year's Eve. If you're lucky enough to be in any of those three cities, consider your holidays officially made merry and bright.
