Peter Bogren is a veteran bartender at Dickie Brennan’s Palace Cafe. An Illinois native, Peter had been a bartender at various locations in Chicago before coming to New Orleans for Jazzfest in 2002. As with many, Peter fell in love with the music, food, culture and people of New Orleans, and moved from the Windy City that fall.
That same year, Peter began work at Palace Café and has been lucky to work with some of the city’s great culinary minds, learning about new flavors and approaches to mixology. Training in virtually all of the front of house positions, he found his true passion behind the bar. He has been an important part of the evolution of the Palace Cafe bar program and has worked closely with Beverage Director Barry Himel to create specialty cocktails. It is due to Peter that Palace Café serves one of the restaurant’s best-selling drinks.
Peter also lends his talents to various community organizations, working functions at the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Contemporary Arts Center, and Kingsley House. He was also a featured mixologist at Share Our Strength’s 2008 Taste of New Orleans brunch.
