Tales of the Cocktail® Introducing Awards for Sustainability Efforts

Posted on: May. 19, 2016 | | By: Kandyse Aube

Tales of the Cocktail’s new Sustainable Spirit Award seeks to recognize the people in our industry who are leading the sustainability charge through the work in their own bars while encouraging others to follow their lead. By preserving natural resources and contributing to sustainability efforts, their accomplishments are ensuring that our Earth will continue to produce resources for the drinks we enjoy for years to come.

“Every hospitality choice we make is an environmental choice, for better or for worse,” said Claire Sprouse and Chad Arnholt, founders of the Tin Roof DrinkrnCommunity. “It is our responsibility to approach sustainability with the same commitment that we do hospitality and deliciousness. Let’s not underestimate our industry’s potential to make an impact on one of the biggest challenges of our time. Accordingly it is wonderful to see our industry mother ship Tales of the Cocktail stir the pot and recognize those who are doing their part, encouraging more to follow suit!”

Tales of the Cocktail will give out four to five of these Sustainable Awards during thern2016 Toast to Tales Press Conference on Wednesday, July 20 at 2:00 pm in front of the Hotel Monteleone.

“Not only will this celebrate those who are taking the necessary steps to make this part of their business, but those who are spreading information and education so more people can adapt to make it part of their own too,” said RyanrnChetiyawardana, or Mr. Lyan, founder and owner of White Lyan and Dandelyan. “A greener and more sustainable outlook is crucial for all industries, but working with fresh produce and across so many parts of the world, it is paramount for the future of the food and drink industry. This is something my team and I are very passionate about, so it is amazing to see it being recognized by the leading voice in our industry – Tales of the Cocktail.”
