Thursday’s Tales After Dark brings the cool Bossa Nova sound and Brazilian-inspired cocktails such as Leblon Cachaça Caipirinha and Leblon Cachaça Batidas to cool you down when the music heats up.

The Playhouse will barely be able to contain the sound as the legendary Irvin Mayfield leads an all star round up of New Orleans best talent in an exhibition of modern-day jazz paired with the big flavors of Benchmark Bourbon and beer.

We will summon the formative years of American jazz with a classic quartet and the women of the Burlesque Ballroom both perfectly paired with Sidecars and French 75's.

The Straight Pour, a weekly libation conversation hosted by Ann and Paul Tuennerman on AM 690 WIST, will be broadcast on location at Tales of the Cocktail from the legendary Hotel Monteleone.

The Polo Club Lounge at the Windsor Court Hotel, partnering with Viridian Spirits, will host the U.S. launch of Jade Absinthes on July 25th from 4:30-6:30 pm.

It’s time to start shaking the spirits from their slumber because Tales of the Cocktail is about to begin. Join us as we kick off Tales of the Cocktail 2010 with a media event that’s more party than press conference. You’ll meet some of the authors, chefs, mixologists and celebrity guests that will star at this year’s events as well as the 2010 Cocktail Ambassador Wendy Warren.

The book sale will feature an extremely rare international collection of cocktail books from the late 1800s and early 1900s including original copies of Jerry Thomas (1862), Charles Baker (1939), William Schmidt’s The Flowing Bowl and Frank Meier’s The Artistry of Mixing Drinks. This event will impress anyone and everyone that cares about the cocktail world.
